Social media mogul and the most hoodie-clad billionaire around, Mark Zuckerberg, announced he will be throwing down the proverbial gauntlet and squaring up would-be with the famously unpredictable, vehicle-launching, flamethrower-loving Elon Musk. The Facebook–sorry–Meta Platforms founder swapped his iconic grey hoodie for an equally fetching pair of boxing gloves, making a bold statement. "I've always been drawn to the sweet science of boxing," said Zuck. "You know, two people using strategy, outmanoeuvring each other–much like a boardroom, but with more punches and fewer privacy scandals." His comments come in response to a recent jibe from Musk, new owner of Twitter, or as it's now known, 'X'. No one's quite sure why Musk chose 'X', but analysts suspect he's simply played too much 'Tic-Tac-Toe'. It's unknown what triggered Musk’s initial challenge, but some speculate it stemmed from an overzealous Twitter rant about his extensive collection of crypto-kitties taking a nosedive, blaming it on Facebook's Metaverse stealing the limelight. Whatever the cause, Zuckerberg’s acceptance of the fight has sent shockwaves through Silicon Valley, an area already seismically unstable from the sheer amount of inflated egos it’s built upon. Some tech insiders, however, are less shocked and more fascinated by what's to come. "Rumbled in the Valley, that's what I'm calling this match," said Lou Basenese, President of Public Ventures, and self-titled 'Tech Oraknowlogist'. "Zuckerberg has strategy, Musk has unpredictability, and both have the uncanny ability to inspire both adoration and outrage in equal measures." But everyone's left with the burning question–can Zuckerberg actually throw a punch? The sultan of social media might have enough power to make you delete your embarrassing high school photos, but does he have enough power behind his fist to take on Teslaman? "Look, I've been following Zucker's career as closely as the next guy...which is to say I randomly see Facebook updates on how rich he's getting. The only physical confrontation I've seen him in, is when he tried to wrestle privacy away from us, and he seems to be winning that," added an ostensibly concerned Basenese. Meanwhile, Musk is yet to schedule this mock match-up. Some suspect he's too occupied trying to book another carpool karaoke session with James Corden, while others believe he's probably busy drawing up blueprints for his latest invention--a retro-futuristic, AI-driven, rocket-propelled boxing glove.
