Once again, in the spirit of giving and international camaraderie, the Pakistani Rangers shared an unsolicited display of their explosive hobby with the Border Security Force (BSF) stationed along the International Border (IB) in Ramgarh sector, Samba district. The delightful event, however, happened earlier on Thursday, much before the designated time for such activity. In what seemed like an action-packed reimagining of a festive fireworks show, the Pakistani Rangers, always the keen ones for surprises, struck the Border Outposts in the district with a vigor that could only be described as impatient enthusiasm. Our very own BSF personnel was chosen as the lucky recipient of the impromptu fireworks display. His exhilaration was such that he had to be immediately evacuated and transferred to a local hospital, where he is currently savoring the delightful gift away from his regular duties. Now isn't that a grand vacation all of us dream of! For those keeping the score, this warm 'exchange of gifts' marks the third in just 24 days along the IB on the Jammu frontier. It's nice to see our friends across the border haven't forgotten about us. Their commitment toward a regular program of unsolicited performances is as predictable as teenage infatuation. The frequency, consistency, and mind-boggling determination would make even a seasoned mailman implode with competitive inadequacy. The senior official, when asked about the BSF response, simply smiled and said, "Ah! They've sent us another token of love." It was hard to say whether the glint in his eyes was a response to the enthusiasm of the rangers or indigestion from his breakfast. The injured BSF personnel, blissfully enjoying his involuntary break in hospital, would like to commend the Pakistani Rangers’ impressive commitment to this explosive pastime. In hoping that these unsolicited displays may indeed serve the ideal of ceasefire in near future. And as we wait for the next surprise gift from across the border, one can only anticipate the return gesture our BSF personnel might have planned. After all, who wouldn't love a seasoned game of pyro tennis between border guarding forces! For now, though, the spotlight is on our injured personnel who can sit back, relax, and reap the spoils of a Pakistani Rangers rendered vacations. The motto of the day: 'Why wait for Diwali when you can have fireworks every third day?' No more rotting in routine, boys, it's time to fly!
