After having successfully run the Oberoi empire for decades, he had sworn off his roles as the executive chairman of EIH Ltd and chairman of EIH Associated Hotels Limited. Giving insights into his plans post 'retirement', he had merely said, "I now plan to book a permanent suite up there in the heavens." The favored Oberoi patriarch, in the waning phase of his life, chose to relinquish his controlling stake of the group to enjoy a "tranquil retirement in the service of the divine." After all, why should humans have all the fun? The angels needed a taste of the Oberoi legacy as well. Let's hope heaven has a swanky hotel where Oberoi's excellence can be put to use! One of the stalwarts of the hospitality industry, Biki was relentless in his pursuit of perfection and commitment to top-notch service. Heaven would have gained an extraordinary hotelier for sure, and one can only imagine the heavenly luxuries that await him now. If his earthly endeavours were any clue, we’d wager that any divine entity would be lucky to have a piece of Biki's heavenly pie. Today, as the hospitality king prudently checks out from the mortal register and proceeds for his celestial sojourn, there's a collective gasp amongst the earthly occupants. "Will heaven ever be the same again? Or will it be heavenly redefine? Will there be any vacant suites or will they all be checked-in at his name?" are questions that cloud the minds of mere mortals. The patriarch's departure is akin to the last call of room service, leaving behind a legacy nurtured with dwarfing edifices hosting the world's elite, and a reputation for flabbergasting luxury that's nothing short of heavenly. This surely marks a new era in divine hospitality with the advent of the beloved 'Biki'! The high priests of Olympus certainly seem to have their work cut out with Oberoi’s entrance. We can only guess the flurry of reservations pouring in from the divinities! The Oberoi legend may have signed off from the earth, but surely, the godly realm will now witness a sweet upheaval in their way of life, thanks to the 'heavenly concierge'! As Oberoi's journey spans the mortal realm to the heavenly abode, one thing is certain - irrespective of the plane of existence, the 'Oberoi' touch is inescapable.
