Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi discussed bilateral cooperation and supplies of Russian agricultural products to Egypt in a phone call on Thursday. The Kremlin press service reported that the two leaders discussed joint projects in the agricultural sector and the development of traditionally friendly and mutually beneficial ties in trade, economic and humanitarian areas in accordance with the provisions of the Treaty on Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation between Russia and Egypt. Putin and el-Sisi also highlighted the importance of maintaining close cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture. Putin noted the importance of creating favorable conditions for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the agricultural sector and expressed his readiness to provide assistance in this regard. The two leaders also discussed the implementation of joint projects in the agricultural sector, including the implementation of the Russian-Egyptian agreement on the construction of a modern grain terminal in the port of El-Sokhna. The phone call was part of the ongoing development of bilateral ties between the two countries.
