However, the Broncos were ultimately sold to a group led by Walmart heir Rob Walton for a record $4.65 billion. The Commanders are expected to sell for more than the Broncos, which would make it the highest price ever paid for a professional sports team. Johnson's involvement in the bid could help the group reach their goal of setting a new record.
