A new book, "Wild Things: A Trans-Glam-Punk-Rock Love Story" by Lynette Reini-Grandell, has been released by the Minnesota Historical Society Press. The book tells the story of Reini-Grandell's marriage to Venus de Mars, artist and front person for the band All the Pretty Horses. The book follows Reini-Grandell and de Mars' relationship from its beginning to the present day, and the struggles they faced in a world where the kind of knowledge and terminology about being trans didn't exist. Reini-Grandell has used de Mars' old name (Steve) and old pronouns where using them is necessary for the story. The book is a testament to the power of love and self-empowerment, and a celebration of the resilience of the human spirit.
